We have different back plate options that fits different gas tank shapes.

  • custom gas tank paintjob or artwork may have thinner layer of clear coat (or none at all), and strong magnets may leave an imprint on the paint job.
  • Gas tank panels or anti-slippery pads will block magnetic attachment.
  • Aluminum alloy gas tank (such as Yamaha R1) or gas tank cover (such as Yamaha XSR900 Gen 1) cannot attach mangets.

  • T-Plate

    Array of 4 magnets that is most universal for all metal gas tank motorcycles, with the widest horizontal and vertical grip. Wings can be neatly tucked away when not used. Perfectly fits all Svartpilen gas tank racks 2020-2023.

  • MINI T-Plate

    Array of 4 magnets with shorter "wings", developed to perfectly hug the gas tank rack on the new Husqvarna Svartpilen year model 2024 and onward. Will also fit round & wide metal gas tanks on many classic / retro styled street bikes.

  • X-Plate

    For classic / retro styled large capacity motorcycle gas tanks that have relatively flat contour, the 4 diagonally positioned magnets will firmly grip onto the top metal surface, while maintaining visual integrity of the side logo / customized artwork.

  • Diamond-Plate

    As a compact, minimalistic back plate that offers equally reliable magnetic grip as all other options, this array of magnets is suitable for slender metal gas tanks (such as the ones on Harley Davidson Sportster).

All magnetic back plates have 4 sets of N42 rare-earth Neodymium magnet, offering long-lasting magnetic force.

The "wings" on any back plate can be folded and secured, so that the bag looks clean when you wear it as a sling bag.

The magnetic grip passed BlackArrowJimmy's actual field tests, loaded up to 2kg of camera gear, and remained firmly attached at 150kmph highway pulls.

Friendly Reminder:

To prevent scuffing your gas tank:

  • wipe any dust off your back plate before mounting
  • pull the magnetic tank bag UPWARD from the gas tank, don't drag the bag across the tank.
